Headshot of Shinuo Weng

Shinuo Weng

Shinuo Weng is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University Her research intersects mechanical engineering and developmental cell biology, focusing on understanding and harnessing the fundamental biomechanical blueprints that shape tissues during embryonic development Utilizing a multiscale and multidisciplinary approach, Weng’s work explores the mechanical underpinnings of tissue development, deviations leading to anomalies, and engineering approaches to recapitulate developmental processes Weng earned her BE from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, MS and PhD from the University of Michigan, and completed her postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin before joining the faculty at Hopkins in January 2024.
