
Sangmoo Jeong
Sangmoo Jeong is a core member in the Institute for NanoBioTechnology and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. His lab is interested in how metabolic dysfunctions link to major diseases, including cancer. With expertise in device engineering, his lab focuses on developing technologies to deepen our understanding of local and systemic metabolic malfunctions in diseases and identify how our daily diet affects disease progression.
Jeong received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Korea and a master of science and a PhD in electrical engineering from Stanford University. He completed his postdoctoral research at Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School with Ralph Weissleder, MD/PhD and Hakho Lee, PhD, and later, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with Kayvan Keshari, PhD. He is a recipient of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00).
