Sharon Gerecht is a Kent Gordon Croft Investment Management Faculty Scholar and professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. She became the director of INBT in January 2017. Her research interests are in the field of stem cells and their microenvironment, especially as applied to tissue repair and regeneration.  Dr. Gerecht received her PhD in Bioengineering from the Israel Institute of Technology in 2004 and postdoctoral training in bioengineering in 2007 at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. She won the inaugural Johns Hopkins President Award in 2015 for her work in tissue repair and regeneration.
