Kenneth Pienta

Kenneth Pienta is the Donald S. Coffey professor of urology and is a professor of oncology, pharmacology and molecular sciences at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also serves as director of the The Brady Urological Institute Dr. Pienta’s research considers the ecology of cancer, tumor microenvironment, metastasis, biomarker development, novel therapeutic development, the concept that cancer tumorigenesis and metastasis can best be addressed utilizing the principles of ecology as related to invasive species and developing new treatments for cancer through network disruption. He is the author of more than 350 peer-reviewed articles. Dr. Pienta received his BS in 1983 and his M.D in 1986, both from Johns Hopkins University.
