“INBT gave me the opportunity to learn with and from scientists and engineers from all disciplines. Even when the material was over my head, or I didn’t pay attention in class, I was gaining an understanding of science beyond my own. Also, the focus on the bigger picture was important for (a) shaping my scientific views and (b) staying motivated during grad school. The most important lesson I learned was the value of interdisciplinary teamwork. In terms of non-academic benefits, I have been able to networking with peers and industry people. Plus INBT is a cool experience to talk about in interviews. Frankly, I think it should be the only way to learn.”
